Enzymes are substances that catalyze biochemical reactions. Although they actively participate in the reaction, they are not changed in the process. They are almost always found in cells so any increase in their blood levels would indicate cellular destruction. These are important clinical enzymes which are measured in clinical chemistry to determine the presence or absence of a pathologic conditions.

1. Acid phosphatase (ACP) is primarily present in red blood cells (RBC), breast milk, and semen. It is tested to determine the occurrence of prostate cancer, breast cancer and some red blood cell pathologic conditions.

It is also used as a diagnostic tool in cases of rape. Since ACP is present in the semen, testing the vaginal fluid for the presence of ACP will indicate that the act has been committed.

2. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is found in bones, kidneys, liver, placenta, intestines and platelets. Elevated ALP levels would indicate bone and liver diseases like osteomalacia, liver cirrhosis, and the like.

3. Creatine phosphokinase (CPK) is found in the brain, heart, and muscles. It has three isoenzymes: CKBB (CK1), which is present in the brain, the CKMB (CK2), which is present in the heart, and CKMM (CK3), which is present in muscles. The significance of elevated results therefore are diseases related to the heart, brain and muscles.

4. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is nicknamed the "ubiquitous enzyme" because it is almost present in all cells in the body. It is found in red blood cells, cardiac muscles, liver, lungs, spleen and kidneys. There are five isoenzymes: LDHHHH (LD1), LDHHHM (LD2), LDHHMM (LD3), LDHMMM (LD4), and LDMMMM (LD5). It is elevated in liver diseases and heart conditions like myocardial infarction (MI).

5. Gamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT) is an alcoholic marker. Its elevation indicates liver disease and chronic alcoholism. It is only elevated after prolonged usage of alcohol.

6. Alanine amino transferase (ALT) is a liver enzyme. It is markedly elevated in liver disease.

7. Aspartate amino transferase (AST) is a cardiac enzyme. It is significantly elevated in myocardial infarction, and slightly elevated in liver disease. CK, LDH, and AST are the three cardiac enzymes.

These enzymes are important diagnostic markers of diseases. Do not disregard normal results. Serial measurements should be made on another sample, from the same person to ensure consistent results.

Before conclusive diagnosis is made, all data, like patient's history, physical symptoms and other laboratory results should be integrated.

I have been driving a tractor trailer for about 10+ years. I am a member to many CB Radio Forums, also a lot of Truck Driver Forums.

I see and get this question all the time, so I thought I would try and answer it here.

You made it through truck driving school, now you need a CB Radio? OK, first off we need to do some research on CB Radios. DO you want a 10 meter radio? Or do you want a standard 11 meter CB Radio? Well it is going to have to be the latter of the two. Because unless you are a Ham Radio operator licensed through the FCC, then it is illegal to own a 10 meter radio.

CB Radio operators are only allowed to talk on the 11 meter band.

There are 40 channels in the 11 meter band, no CB Channels go below channel 1- 26.965 or above channel 40- 27.405. Anywhere in between you are allowed to operate as long as your CB Radio has not been "worked on", we will get into this later. There are several different kinds of CB Radio's to choose from that are legal in the US.

From the factory these radio's are preset at 4 watts of power, which is legal. Tuned properly they will go up to about 35 watts, but again this is not allowed by the FCC.

But most truckers go to the nearest "cb shop" and pay .00 to 0.00 to have a "Connex Board" and a "peak and tune" done to their radios. The "Connex Board" is a echo feature added to the inside of the radio, so as to distort (echo) the voice it also adds a talk back feature so the operator can hear themselves through an external speaker.

Most drivers I know usually buy a decent radio (0.00) then they buy a cheap antenna to go with it. Well this won't work, your antenna is 95% of your cb outfit. I recommend any Wilson antenna, especially a Wilson 2000 or Wilson 5000. These range in price from .00 to 0.00 and that is usually installed. Yes, have it installed by a tech so that they can set your SWR for your antenna. SWR- Standing Wave Ratio this is what makes your radio talk. If you have a SWR of above a 3 or more it will burn your radio up. The tech will use a SWR meter connected to your coax and antenna to check it's SWR reading. If it is to high they will cut some of the antenna whip off 1/8" increments, until a satisfactory SWR is reached. If you do not want to spend a lot on an antenna at least buy one that is tunable.

The coax is another big part of the radios performance. Which would be caught by a good tech when they were installing your "new" antenna. But if you are already using the radio and you notice it drops in performance, it will either usually be the SWR or the coax. Truck stops sell precut lengths of coax, usually you will need a 18' piece to replace what is bad runs about .00, I recommend the gray or clear coax. If you are just replacing the coax you can do this yourself, unless you want the SWR checked.

The History Of Cell Phones - How Did The Cell Phone Come About?

The idea for cell phones has been around for a lot longer than the technology to provide them was. As soon as the first landlines came into use, people had the idea of improving the convenience and flexibility of this new communication medium, and of bringing it to new areas such as cars. At first, cellular phones were little more than two way portable radios, but as technology improved, the concepts behind cell phones improved rapidly.

Bell labs and Motorola were both involved in a dramatic race to see who could invent the first viable cellular phones. While Bell labs had installed innovative radio systems into police cars, these devices were far too large for anyone to carry around and were thus impractical as a truly mobile telephone. However, in 1973, Martin Cooper, a scientist working for Motorola successfully made the first ever cell phone call using a portable handset. The age of the cellular phone was at last born, and who did he call? None other than his rival at Bell Labs, Joel Engel, who had been racing with him to create the invention.

Within a couple of years, both Bell and AT&T had come up with prototypes of their own and the first trial areas were set up. Chicago and Tokyo were the first cities in the world where you could use a cell phone but their availability was extremely limited and the new phones were only available to a select number of trial customers to begin with. For example, the 1979 trial venture in Chicago distributed cell phones to just 2000 customers.

The idea caught on like wildfire. By 1987 there were over one million cell phone users in the US alone. It seemed as if everyone wanted a cell phone and the major companies involved had really hit a home run. However, there were difficulties. For example, in the US, the FCC regulates and allocates radio bandwidth for different purposes. The radio spectrum is limited and can become 'full', so it is necessary to control who gets use of different parts of it. The area they licensed for cellular phones, at 800 MHz was quickly crowded. However, instead of giving more, they forced the telecommunication companies to improve technology and come up with more efficient ways of utilising the bandwidth they had. By the end of the 80's this had been achieved and the cell phone age we know at present really got underway. And the rest as they say is history.

What are Cell Phones?

Cell phones, also known as mobile phones or wireless phones, are hand-held phones with built-in antennas. Unlike home phones, cell phones can be carried from place to place with a minimum of fuss. How Do Cell Phones Work?

Not many people know it, but cell phones are actually two-way radios, much like the walkie-talkies of the past, albeit much more advanced. When you talk into your cell phone receiver, it registers your voice and converts the sound into radio waves. These waves travel through the air until they reach a receiver, which is usually found at a base station. This station will then send your call through a telephone network until it contacts the person you wish to speak with. Similarly, when someone places a call to your cell phone, the signal travels through the telephone network until it reaches a station near you. The station sends the radio waves out into the neighboring areas. These radio waves are then picked up by your cell phone and converted into the sound of a human voice.

Cell phones are a vast improvement over the telecommunications technology of the past, and are daily becoming a fixture of modern life. What is Warrior Mind Strength?  It's a process for developing personal mental strength so that no situation, no experience, no circumstance will shake you.  You'll stay focused on your task and your mission.

Warrior Mind Strength will give you power.  The definition of power is: "the ability to do or act; the capability of doing or accomplishing something" So by developing a warrior mind, this mental strength, you will have access to unbelievable personal power.

Sound great right?  Well as with most things that sounds great there is a price to pay to get it.  In this case, it will be discipline and openness.

Discipline to: Observe your thoughts everyday for the rest of your life. Question your thoughts and stories and determine if they are supportive To keep account of your results and tie them back to your thoughts
Open to: Know that you don't know (I've heard that of all the information out there we know only 3%; we know that we don't know 17%; and as much of 80% of information is that we don't know that we don't know) To question all your results and how you got them What you're about to read

Below is an assortment of many philosophers, sages, heroes and thought leaders principles about the mind.  These principles are the one that I have found to be common among the "great ones."

The six principles of Warrior Mind Strength

Principle Number 1: The Law of Things: Thoughts are things, they are real forces, and they are energy.  This has been proven over and over again, to doubt this is to doubt your own existence.

Principle Number 2: The Law of Bi-direction: The mind is like a two-way radio, it is a sending and receiving station of thoughts. C'mon, you've experienced it; you've been in a room and "feel" someone looking at you.  Well, they're not just looking at you; they're thinking about you and sending you a message.  Or how about when you're thinking of someone and they call you.

Principle Number 3: The law of Magnetism:  The Law of magnetism states that, thoughts that are thought with emotional become magnetized and attract similar and like thoughts.  Have you ever gotten in a fight with your significant other or boss and then all the thoughts that follow are about how "bad" the other person is?

Principle Number 4: The law of Management:  The Law of Management states that we are perpetually experiencing thoughts and we have the power and the capacity to either entertain those thoughts or release them.  Let's say you're driving on the freeway and someone cuts you off.  At that split instant you can either allow the thought that "whatta jerk!" in your mind or "wow, that person must be having a bad day"  You can either hold on and entertain the first thought...or the second thought.  It's all up to you!

Principle Number 5: The law of Placement:  The Law of Placement states that we have the power, ability and capacity to place and insert any thought of any type into mind at anytime. This is sometimes a bit tough to practice, because it feels soooo good sometimes to be mad.  But by staying mad we are allowing those thoughts to stay with us.  If when you're mad you see or think of a puppy, kitten or baby you instantly dissolve that emotion.  So, by consciously managing your thoughts you are actually managing your mood as well.   

Principle Number 6: The Law of Association: The six and final principle of is the Law of Association. The Law of Association states that the inner and outer worlds are associated and connected.  The outer world of our circumstances and situations, the inner world of our thoughts and reactions, are connected.  This one is the toughest to discuss without some more background information. And rest assured, your thoughts (inner world) do ignite your actions that create your results (outer world). 

I hope that you will print this article out and contemplate these principles every day for 30-days.  At the end of the 30-days pay attention to the results you're getting and if you don't feel more secure in yourself...that you have developed warrior mind strength, that mental strength to live a bold life!

Good Cell Phone Scanner Frequencies

Cell phone scanner frequencies are essential to cell phone operation.

A frequency is the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit time. It is most commonly thought of as a wave that goes from one place to another. The up and down crests of the wave as it moves along would be the repeating occurrences. If you change the speed of the up and down crests of the wave, you change the frequency.

The types of up and down waves cell phones use are essentially radio waves. Most cell-phone carriers typically get 832 radio frequencies to use in a particular city. Cell phone scanner frequencies are usually used in sets of two. Each cell phone uses two frequencies per call. This is known as a duplex channel. Consequently, there are typically 395 voice channels per carrier.

Therefore, each cell has about 56 voice channels available. In other words, in any cell, the cell phone scanner frequencies can have 56 people talking on their cell phone at one time. These older and more basic analog cellular systems are considered first-generation mobile technology, or 1G. With the introduction of digital transmission methods about 10 years ago (2G), the number of available channels increases. This was known as 2G. And now we have 3G or third generation networks. This dramatically increases the number of channels.

Although cell phone scanner frequencies have increased, cell phones have low-power transmitters in them. Many cell phones are less powerful than the old CB radios. This does have some advantages. The low power transmission means that the cell phone can use smaller batteries. Also, phone call transmissions stay within a city cell, near a cell tower. This means that the same cell phone scanner frequencies can be used over again in different parts of the city.

The cellular approach requires a large number of base stations in a city of any size. A typical large city can have hundreds of cell towers. But because so many people are using cell phones, costs remain low per user. Each carrier in each city also runs one central office called the Mobile Telephone Switching Office (MTSO). This office handles all of the phone connections to the normal land-based phone system, and controls all of the base stations in the region.

When you start investing it's important to be sure you know exactly what your expectations are. Before I get started I always make a detailed business plan. I include how much my initial investment will be, how large I expect my returns to be and when I expect to see those returns. I then break it down and list the ways I plan to accomplish these goals. This helps me to stay on track and to know instantly if I get off track so that I can make adjustments. Recently I wrote a business plan called How to Double My Money in Two Short Weeks.

The first thing I did was consider what my initial investment would be. I had 00 but decided to invest an even 00. I knew my goal was to double my money and to do it within 2 weeks. I then sat down and brainstormed all the ways I could think of to turn 00 into 00 in a matter of weeks.

I came up with several options, including buying and re-selling wholesale merchandise, advertising a service I could offer and creating customized gifts for people. In the end I decided that buying and re-selling wholesale merchandise was the best option for me. I then bought 00 worth of clothing and immediately listed it for sale online.

Within one week I'd made my money back and from then on out it was all profit. By the end of the 2nd week I'd been able to make 98, which was more than double my money. The key to my success was simply making a business plan and following it.

Unique Features of E-Commerce

Nowadays E-Commerce is the buzz word. Although it is omnipresent but we never realize its importance primarily because it is known by different names. People do site promotion, SEO, affiliate marketing, and many other things but the goal is same i.e. to get clients and sell the products or services of the company. 'E' is just a medium to transact online. I will be listing some peculiar features of e-commerce which makes it considerably appreciable.

Ubiquity - In traditional commerce, a marketplace is a physical place we visit in order to transact. For example, television and radio are typically directed to motivating the customer to go someplace to make a purchase. E-commerce is ubiquitous, meaning that it is available just about everywhere at all times. It liberates the market from being restricted to a physical space and makes it possible to shop from your desktop. The result is called a market space. From consumer point of view, ubiquity reduces transaction costs - the cost of participating in a market. To transact, it is no longer necessary that you spend time and money traveling to a market. At a broader level, the ubiquity of e-commerce lowers the cognitive energy required to complete a task.

Global Reach - E-commerce technology permits commercial transactions to cross cultural and national boundaries far more conveniently and effectively as compared to traditional commerce. As a result, the potential market size for e-commerce merchants is roughly equal to the size of world's online population.

Universal Standards - One strikingly unusual feature of e-commerce technologies is that the technical standards of the Internet and therefore the technical standards for conducting e-commerce are universal standards i.e. they are shared by all the nations around the world.

Interactivity - Unlike any of the commercial technologies of the twentieth century, with the possible exception of the telephone, e-commerce technologies are interactive, meaning they allow for two-way communication between merchants and consumer.

Information Density and Richness - The Internet vastly increase information density. It is the total amount and quality of information available to all market participants, consumers and merchants. E-commerce technologies reduce information collection, storage, communication and processing costs. At the same time, these technologies increase greatly the accuracy and timeliness of information, making information more useful and important than ever. As a result, information becomes plentiful, cheaper and of higher quality. Information richness refers to the complexity and content of a message.

Personalization - E-commerce technologies permit personalization. Merchants can target their marketing messages to specific individuals by adjusting the message to a person's name, interests and past purchases. The technology also permits customization. Merchants can change the product or service based on user's preferences or prior behavior.

E-commerce technologies make it possible for merchants to know much more about consumers and use this information more effectively than ever before. Online merchants can use this information to develop new information asymmetries, enhance their ability to brand products, charge premium prices for high quality service and segment the market into an endless number of subgroups, each receiving a different price.
